Inter-Church Prayer Fellowship - Mondays 9.30 am at 13a Orchard Lane
On Wednesday 18 April 2012 we celebrated the 150th anniversary of the first service ever held at the Chapel.
We welcomed around 100 people from chapels and churches in the district and enjoyed a wonderful evening which started with a celebration of hymns and songs enjoyed over the past 150 years.
Worship was led by the Rev’d Phil Clarke who was Minister here from 1983 to 1988. Phil was ably assisted by Rev’d Ian Hill and Rev’d Robert Amos.
Others who took part in the service included Judy Brown and Mary Barraclough who sang a modern version of Amazing Grace and the Driffield Singing Group with Robert Amos. The evening was rounded off by a delicious supper.
Thank you to everyone who took part or helped to make the evening such a wonderful success, and in particular to Kathy and Shirley for feeding us all.
Thanks also to Win and Lawrie for their hospitality the following morning, giving us the opportunity to catch up with Phil and Janet before they returned to their new ministry in Burnley.
